4WDers can expect a price hike in unleaded fuel over the next fortnight due to a rise in prices in the overseas markets.
Last week the average fuel price around the country was 142.4/L. However, an increase of $5 per barrel in the price of Singapore’s exported unleaded will mean the prices around the country will likely increase between 3 – 5c/L, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum.
According to the latest numbers from the Bureau of Statistics, in November 2011 alone, Australia imported 67% of unleaded and 40% of all diesel fuel from Singapore.
